The Plains, Virginia -- May 25, 2016 -- The Land Rover Great Meadow International, Presented by Adequan®, is proud to welcome a wide array of prominent horse sport sponsors and supporters for its 2016 international event, returning to Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, July 8-10.

The Great Meadow International (GMI) is a premier eventing competition with world-class facilities that include a new $1 Million arena constructed specifically for this event. The 2016 GMI will be a historic and thrilling competition as it is hosting the first-ever FEI Nations Cup™ Eventing competition outside Europe and is a preparation event for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Eventing Team.

Land Rover, the British maker of Land Rover and Range Rover luxury sport utility vehicles, has been the title sponsor of GMI for the past two years. Land Rover has a long association with the sport of eventing through our support as title sponsor of the U.S. Land Rover Eventing Team, official vehicle of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and presenting sponsor of the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. Land Rover is renowned for providing some of the most luxurious and capable vehicles in the world, with each vehicle being equally at home both on and off road. Today's Land Rover lineup includes the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, LR4 and the Discovery Sport.
"Returning as title sponsor of this event in such a beautiful equestrian setting is a perfect fit for Land Rover. The venue provides a wonderful backdrop to showcase our latest vehicle line-up, and at the same time, provides us an opportunity to support the equestrian community through our USEF and US Eventing Team sponsorships," said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. "We are excited about the growth of the event this year with the addition of the Nations Cup competition and the development of the new arena. With this new format, Great Meadow is providing top-class International competition for event attendees, and has improved competitive conditions for the surrounding equestrian community."

Adequan® is back as the Presenting Sponsor for the second year. "We are excited to be part of this first-ever Nations Cup competition in the U.S.," stated Allyn Mann, Director of Luitpold Animal Health, makers of Adequan® (Polysulfated Glycosaminoglycan). "This is a first-class facility that has a wonderful group of people organizing the event and future events to come. This fits in directly with our overall strategic plan to support the equine industry and the athletic horse and riders."

"Charles Owen is committed to the discipline of eventing and is thrilled to be part of GMI and the first-ever FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ in the U.S.," said Danielle Santos, Director of Sales & Marketing at Charles Owen. "We're excited to bring the Hydration Stations to the event as water is important to protect against brain injury for riders."

"We're excited about the FarmVet Fist Pump competition!" said Christian Currey, FarmVet Founder and President. "We thought it would be fun, different and a great opportunity for the riders to showcase their personality."

About The Great Meadow Foundation
Great Meadow was founded through the vision of news executive and philanthropist Arthur W. (Nick) Arundel in 1982. Arundel purchased an abandoned farm then slated to become a housing development for perpetual preservation of open space. The concept for Great Meadow grew out of several converging forces of the1980s, primarily urban growth pressure on farmland near Washington, the opening of I-66 and the simultaneous loss of the former Virginia Gold Cup course in Warrenton to subdivision development. Since their inception they have been the permanent home for the Virginia Gold Cup and Family 4th of July celebrations. Over the years they have added several more community events, ranging from Twilight Polo to the Virginia State Cross Country Tournaments. For more information, please visit: www.greatmeadow.org.
