The Road to Rio - New Date: July 9th-10th

On July 9th-10th 2016, GMI will be hosting the Land Rover US Eventing Olympic Team Prep Trials as the top US riders will be vying for a spot on the 2016 US Team in their quest for an Olympic medal. This year all riders will be in the CIC*** competion and all Olympic hopefuls from around the world will be invited to compete. Given the substantial prize money and timing, and quality of the venue, we anticipate some of the top riders in the world may be competing. THis year we will be moving back to the 2 day format with dressage taking place Friday morning and afternoon. Saturday night will see the exciting pairing of show jumping and a fun-filled dance party in the pavillion once competition completes. VIPs will be treated to an upscale dinner in an elegant tent with live entertainment for the evening as well. Sunday will offer multiple options for daytime tailgating during the Cross Country phase. But there will be plenty of entertainment options for the general public

Furthermore the FEI has approved the USA to host a leg of the 2016 FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series. The USEF, as the National Federation, has allocated the Nations Cup event to Great Meadow International in The Plains, Va. and approved the dates of July 9-10, 2016. The location and dates for the USA leg of the 2016 FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series has been put forward to the FEI for final approval. The FEI is scheduled to review FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series location and date proposals in November 2015.
