MARSGMI is excited to welcome new non-profit partner, Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program, whose programs include therapeutic riding lessons and horsemanship activities, equine-assisted learning, equine-assisted psychotherapy, and hippotherapy.

NVTRP will conduct a hippotherapy demonstration on Friday in the main arena during the lunch hour followed by a question and answer session with a licensed therapist.

NVTRP will also have ongoing programming of "Children's Hands-On Horsemanship Activities with Teddy the Miniature Horse" in the Meadow Market for several hours following the hippotherapy demonstration on Friday and again on Saturday.

The MARS Great Meadow International (MARSGMI), featuring Olympic-level three day eventing competitors, will be held in The Plains, Virginia, August 22nd-25th.

In addition to amazing equestrian competition, MARSGMI will feature K-9 demonstrations and techniques. Local dog trainer Barry Magner of Hunt Country Canine® and world renowned dog trainer Pat Nolan of TDK9 have partnered together to display retriever, directional, and obedience demonstrations for the event.

Starting on Friday, the MARS Equestrian VIPet tent will be available as a cooling station for your pet. There will be a manned dog park for playing off leash and fun giveaways and treats sponsored by MARS Petcare. (Otherwise, please keep your pets on a leash.)

Come visit the adoptable pets from the Middleburg Humane Foundation throughout the weekend. Bring a donation to MHF (canned cat food, dry cat food, kitty litter, bleach, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, and liquid dish soap) and get into MARSGMI...

THE PLAINS - Virginia - June 2019 - EQSportsNet is pleased to announce a partnership with the Mars Great Meadow International to provide live and on demand coverage of 2019’s event. The Great Meadow International (GMI), featuring Olympic-level competitors, will be held in The Plains, Virginia August 22nd-25th. EQSportsNet will provide wall-to-wall coverage of all three phases of the CCI4*-S and the CCI3*-S show jumping and cross country.

“EQSportsNet is dedicated to producing and delivering the best of the best in eventing competition and adding the Mars Great Meadow International to our top quality live equestrian event coverage is an exciting add for us this year,” EQSportsNet co-founder David Qualls said.
